Joanna Bouboulis
Executive Director
Joanna founded Imagine That after her daughter Zoe's autism diagnosis, wanting to create hope and new possibilities for families.

Joanna, the Executive Director of Imagine That Therapy, graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Boston University in 2005. Before opening Imagine That, she held various sales and marketing positions, ranging from Condé Nast to Amazon Web Services. In 2020, Joanna's life took a new direction when her daughter Zoe was diagnosed with autism. This moment prompted Joanna to learn as much as possible about ABA therapy and speech therapy for her daughter.
Driven by her personal journey, Joanna's mission was to establish a clinic that creates hope for families and lets them imagine the possibilities for their children's future, one skill at a time.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Joanna loves staying active with Pilates, biking, and hiking, as well as traveling with her daughter and husband.

Mackenzie Hascup earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Drew University in 2019 and went on to receive her Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis in 2022. She began her journey in the ABA field in 2019 as a Behavior Technician and became a BCBA in September 2025. Since then, she has worked with children and families across school, home, and clinical settings.
Mackenzie is passionate about building strong, meaningful relationships with the children and families she works with, and strives to create a warm, supportive, and positive environment where everyone can grow and succeed. She values collaboration, individualized care, and helping each child build the skills and confidence needed to thrive in every setting. As Clinical Director, she also enjoys supporting and mentoring her team to help create the best possible experience for clients and staff alike.
Outside of work, Mackenzie enjoys spending time with her dogs, training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, going to concerts, and baking.

Leah graduated from the University of Denver in 2021 with a bachelor's degree in Psychology. Inspired by her experience in child development, she discovered the field of ABA. Leah practiced as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) in Colorado for two years before moving to Virginia to continue her work in Applied Behavior Analysis.
Leah was the first team member to join Imagine That Therapy and has been overjoyed watching the organization grow alongside dedicated professionals and families. One of the greatest opportunities in this practice is watching clients progress and thrive within their environment alongside an incredible team. After more than three years of experience as an RBT, she transitioned into the role of Operations Manager.
In this position, Leah remains passionate about ensuring high-quality care for clients and their families. She is excited to continue building relationships and contributing to such a supportive, mission-driven team. Outside of work, Leah enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, running, and exploring Old Town.

Jenna earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Mary Washington in 2021 and went on to complete her master's degree in Special Education with a certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis at George Mason University. She began her career in ABA in 2021 as a Registered Behavior Technician and has been practicing as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) since June 2025. Jenna's clinical experience is centered on clinic-based ABA services.
Jenna is passionate about building meaningful relationships with children and their families, celebrating every milestone — big and small — along the way. Her therapeutic approach focuses on fostering independence and connection while honoring each child's and family's unique needs. By blending play-based strategies with structured learning, Jenna creates supportive, engaging environments where every child can thrive.
Outside of work, Jenna enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, rock climbing, running, and skiing. When she's not outside, she loves drawing and crocheting.

Maddie Walter earned her bachelor's degree in Special Education from Elon University in 2022 and her master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Vanderbilt University in 2024. She has experience teaching students with autism and other communication needs in both elementary and middle school settings, as well as providing intensive behavioral support and parent coaching in the home. These experiences led Maddie to earn her Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification in 2026.
Maddie is passionate about helping individuals with disabilities and their families better understand behavior to create meaningful, lasting change. She believes all behavior is a form of communication and values helping families better understand their children so they can lead happier, more fulfilling lives.
Outside of work, Maddie enjoys spending time with her fiancé and their dogs, Shrek and Obi, practicing yoga, and relaxing with a good book and a cup of coffee.

Nellie Pappalardo earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Washington College in 2023. Following graduation, she spent time gaining hands-on experience in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) across home, school, and clinic settings. She later returned to school to pursue her Master of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis with a concentration in Autism Spectrum Disorder from Capella University. Her diverse clinical experience and dedication to the field ultimately led her to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
Nellie is passionate about providing compassionate, play-based ABA services that are child-led and tailored to each individual's unique strengths, interests, and needs. Aiden switched from cultural institutions to ABA therapy so he could use his psychology background to help children with autism.

Aiden graduated from the University of Virginia in 2024 with B.A. degrees in Cognitive Science and Art History. After working in various cultural institutions, he transitioned into ABA therapy in March 2025 to apply his psychology background in a clinical setting and support children with autism.
Working as an RBT has allowed Aiden to gain experience across a range of clinical and educational settings, helping him refine his ability to deliver engaging, high-quality therapeutic services. He is passionate about helping children build confidence as they develop skills in communication, play, and daily living. He strives to create a fun and supportive environment while using interactive, individualized strategies to promote engagement and independence in his clients.

Cameron Harris grew up in Hamburg, Pennsylvania, where he spent his childhood playing multiple sports, including basketball, football, and baseball. He began his college career at The Catholic University of America as a football student-athlete before transferring to George Washington University to pursue his passion for psychology. Cameron graduated in May 2026 with a bachelor's degree in Psychology.
Cameron's passion for Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) grew from a deep desire to help others. Before entering the field, he served with AmeriCorps Jumpstart, volunteering more than 600 hours supporting young children in school settings and helping them build early academic and social-emotional skills. This experience solidified his commitment to working directly with children and supporting their development.

He plans to pursue a master's degree to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), with long-term goals of earning a PhD in clinical psychology. Sara graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, along with minors in Music and Biology, in May 2025. She has a wide range of teaching experience, from choreographing hip-hop and jazz routines for her peers at UNC to instructing children in visual arts at the Boys & Girls Club. She began her journey in ABA therapy in August 2025 as a clinic-based Registered Behavior Technician. Since entering the field, Sara has been dedicated to ensuring her clients feel comfortable and encouraged, helping them grow in confidence.
In her free time, Sara enjoys mixing music as a DJ and experimenting with audio production. She hopes to incorporate music and dance into engaging, educational activities for children. She also enjoys film photography, watching movies, and exploring the DMV area since relocating from eastern North Carolina in August. He partially completed his degree at Utah Valley University and is currently working at Imagine That Therapy while pursuing his goal of finishing his Social Work degree and becoming a counselor.
Ezra is passionate about helping autistic children develop the skills they need to enjoy their lives as fully as possible through ABA therapy. His personal goal is for his clients to enjoy the process just as much as the outcome. He strives to achieve this by ensuring his approach is individualized, matching expectations to each day's capacity, and never underestimating what a client can learn over time.

Sofía is a bilingual Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) who has worked in the field since November 2025. She graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2026 with a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Psychology. She plans to begin pursuing her master's degree in January, with the goal of becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and continuing her career in Virginia. Having grown up learning English and Spanish simultaneously, Sofía understands the importance of communication, connection, and creating welcoming spaces for children and their families.
Sofía has always known that she wanted to work with children. Her interest in psychology began with a desire to better understand human behavior. When she discovered the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), she was excited to pursue a career that would allow her to make a meaningful difference in children's lives. She especially enjoys seeing children feel safe and comfortable enough to express themselves — whether they are showing off their dance moves, coloring, playing, or simply being themselves.
